The Design
The Samsung Galaxy A22 follows Samsung’s typical design guidelines with a camera array on the top left corner. The phone is on the thicker side with 9mm of thickness. Apart from that, it feels heavy in hand at 203 grams. The back of the phone, the Galaxy A22 5G also has a matte, gray surface, but the matte texture on the back feels good to the touch and dispenses, at least to some extent, with stains and fingerprints.
We get a 3.5mm jack at the bottom and a Mono speaker and Type-C port and a reset button on the top. On the right resides the volume rocker along with a power button integrated fingerprint sensor. This is the first time we saw Samsung incorporated the side fingerprints on its smartphone. The side fingerprint works very well and we are able to open the phone in just a second.

The 2MP Depth Camera lets you adjust the depth of field in your photos. With a simple touch, you can easily fine-tune the background blur behind your subject for high-quality portrait shots that truly stand out. Similarly, the 8MP ultrawide angle camera also performs quite well. The 8MP Front Camera has bokeh effects, it’s easy to snap stunning selfies that feature more you and less background. Its portrait shots are quite good with nice background blur and good edge detection.
The HDR also helps to keep the highlights under control. Additionally, the 5MP Ultra-Wide and 2MP Depth Camera’s 115-degree vision automatically recognizes scenes and suggests when to use it.
