Samsung has recently launched two mid-range phones, the Galaxy A34 and Galaxy A54. In this review, we will be focusing on the Samsung Galaxy A34. At first glance, the device appears to be a good mid-range 5G phone with a premium design. It boasts a great camera, a fantastic display, and a powerful chipset. Moreover, it comes with a 5000mAh battery that provides solid backup and supports 25W fast charging. While this seems like a great deal, we need to examine whether the asking price is worth it. The Design

The design of the Samsung Galaxy A34 bears a striking resemblance to the flagship Galaxy S23. A glance at the back panel might make you mistake it for the Galaxy S23 or S23 Plus, as it features the same camera lenses and an LED flash positioned alongside them.

The Samsung Galaxy A34 has a glass back with a matte finish that provides a great look and feel. The curved frames match the same matte finish and are rounded around the edges. Despite making the phone appear slightly thick, it is well-balanced and weighs approximately 199 grams.

On the phone’s right side, you can find the power button and volume rockers, while the left side is left unoccupied. At the top, you can access the SIM card slot, and at the bottom, there’s a USB Type-C port and a primary speaker.

The Display

The display of Samsung Galaxy A34 is as impressive as one would expect from Samsung. The phone comes with a 6.6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display that offers an excellent visual experience. What’s more, the 120Hz refresh rate ensures smooth scrolling and overall user experience.

The display settings allow you to adjust the refresh rate of the Samsung Galaxy A34’s screen to High or Standard. However, there is no auto-refresh rate mode available, and the options are either 120Hz or 60Hz. Additionally, you can personalize the colour tuning and adjust the screen mode to your preference.

The display provides vibrant and lively colors, and the viewing angles are also impressive. We watched a few YouTube videos and found the experience to be enjoyable.

The Camera

The Samsung Galaxy A34 comes with a triple camera module on the rear, consisting of a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5MP depth sensor. On the front, there’s a 13MP camera for capturing selfies. The rear cameras of Samsung Galaxy A34 have the ability to capture videos at 4K@30fps and 1080p@30fps, while the front camera can record videos at 4K@30fps and 1080p@30/60fps.

In daylight conditions, the main camera of the Samsung Galaxy A34 captures impressive shots. The images are full of details, and the sharpness is commendable. Additionally, the colors are vivid and punchy, and the dynamic range is wide.

The portrait shots turned out well with accurate edge detection and a nice background blur effect that can be adjusted before and after taking the shot. The night mode helped to brighten up the images, which we feels its decent at this price point.

The selfies taken from the front camera of Samsung Galaxy A34 were impressive with good sharpness and detail level. The skin tones appeared natural, and the low-light selfies were also decent. The portrait selfies also turned out well with good details and accurate edge detection.
