Samsung Galaxy A73 5G: First Impression

Samsung Galaxy A73

Samsung Galaxy A73 5G has been launched together with the Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A23 last month.

The Galaxy A73 5G is a new top-tier phone in the midrange A-series as the successor to last year’s Galaxy A72 which was a 4G phone. With a high-resolution 108-megapixel camera, the Galaxy A73 is a perfect phone for people who want a powerful device without breaking the bank.

We manage to get hold of one of its Galaxy A73 5G and here is our first impression of this 2022 mid-range phone.

The Design

At the first look, you will never be able to differentiate the Galaxy A73 from the Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A23. Samsung had never been so consistent with its design than ever.

In this Samsung Galaxy A73 5G, we got to see the better design and the better back. The rear is made of plastic. The frame is made from plastic too, which makes it lighter and more comfortable to hold. It’s also equipped with IP67 water and dust resistance. The Camera bump is quite a good place too in our opinion.

The Display

The Galaxy A73 5G comes with a 6.70-inches 120Hz AMOLED display with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution while the display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. With the 120Hz of refresh rate, the Galaxy A73 looks smoother to eys, making scrolling and other animations seems smoother.

There is also a fingerprint sensor in the display but this is an optical sensor and not ultrasonic.

The Camera

The Samsung Galaxy A73 5G comes with 108MP primary sensor which has OIS support, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, a 5MP macro sensor, and a 5MP depth sensor while there is a 32MP selfie shooter on the front.

However, don’t assume the 108MP camera matched its premium Galaxy S22 Ultra as its sensor differs. We noticeable loss in detail when comparing side-bu-side.

The rear cameras can shoot videos at 4k@30fps, 1080p@30 / 60fps while the front can shoot at only 1080p@30fps.

The Performance

Samsung Galaxy A73 5G launched with the new chipset from Samsung, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G.

Thanks to a Super AMOLED display and 90 Hertz refresh rate with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G. The Adreno 642L is one of the most powerful GPUs in a mid-range phone, which makes the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G more powerful than the last-gen Samsung Galaxy A72 5G.

The Samsung Galaxy A73 5G comes with Android 12 support. Which is more efficient and more powerful than Android 11. Samsung Galaxy A73 5G also comes with a One UI 4.1, which is their own custom UI. It is much smoother than the One UI 4.1.

The Battery

When it comes to charging. This phone can support fast charging of 25 watts. Where it can charge fully in 90 minutes. The Samsung Galaxy A73 5G comes with a 5000Mah battery. Which has a full day battery, on a single charge, it can live long up to a day.
