Amsterdam Airport Schiphol Experience:
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, known informally as Schiphol Airport, is the main international airport of the Netherlands. As one of the major hubs for the SkyTeam airline alliance, it is located 9 kilometers southwest of Amsterdam.
Before checking in, we took some time to explore the airport. Schiphol boasts a very long walkway lined with numerous shops. I was truly impressed by the variety and number of shops available here. It’s a shopper’s paradise, perfect for some pre-flight retail therapy.
After checking in, we ventured further inside the airport. My first impression was that it looked incredibly spacious. There were even more shops available for travelers to explore, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the terminal.
Boarding the Flight:
After more than 2 hours of waiting, our gate finally opened. We made our way to the boarding gate, feeling a mix of excitement and fatigue. It was midnight by then, and my mum’s tired face in the photo says it all.
In-Flight Experience:
Once on board, we encountered a common issue— all the overhead cabins were full. This meant we had to place our bags under the seat in front of us. The seats were not too small, but not overly spacious either. Each seat came with a foldable table and a pocket in front of us, which were clean and functional. The table could be pulled nearer for added convenience. The legroom was decent, and there were individual lights and air conditioning vents overhead. Check out my video below to know more.
The flight from Amsterdam to Copenhagen was relatively short, lasting only 1 hour and 25 minutes. Despite the brief duration, we were served a pack of bread and a cup of beverages, which was a nice touch. After a long day at Keukenhof, my mum was visibly tired, and it was a relief to have some refreshments.
Arrival in Copenhagen:
Upon arrival in Copenhagen, we were pleasantly surprised by the fleet of branded taxis available. We got a ride in a Mercedes taxi, and I couldn’t stop admiring the luxurious interior. It was a stylish and comfortable end to our journey.
Overall, the experience with KLM was smooth and enjoyable, from the amenities at Schiphol Airport to the service on the flight and the luxurious taxi ride in Copenhagen.
